We are about to hire a few social scientists. I'm really excited about this because it will help us scale something that it inherently difficult to scale. As such it's a bit of an experiment, but after doing win/loss analysis, churn analysis, and stuck deal facilitation, and nothing else, for 8 years (!), I want to take what we've learned and apply it at scale. It won't be easy, but I am confident that we will do it, and what we end up with will be genuinely novel.
To help us get there, we have been talking to social psychologists, anthropologists, and sociologists. Such fascinating people with so much depth of understanding. Our clients have already called us sales psychologists, buyer therapists, and even business anthropologists. And so it's time to take this to the next level.
But as we do this, and before anyone applies, I want them to know what we are about. Here's my first draft for the paragraph after we describe the basics of what we do as a company. I'd love to hear what you think!
We are a growing firm that seeks to see and draw out the biggest story available to each individual, organization, and our society and culture. We do this in big and small ways. Most pertinent here, we value our people and our place in the local community. To that end, we have a renovated a great office in a historic building in downtown Guelph, and we make substantial efforts to contribute to our local community. We have sponsored numerous transformative organizations including the Silence, The Jazz Room, Guelph Film Festival, Animas Valley Institute and others. We offer great benefits, competitive salaries, a collaborative work environment, and office essentials such as sit/stand workstations, killer headphones, large screens, and blisteringly fast computers.
